New Lara Croft game Isn't what you expect

On Thursday, we reported that Square Enix had announced a new Tomb Raider game. Well, sort of. They announced Lara Croft and The Guardian of Light. Eyebrows were raised when the name Tomb Raider wasn't mentioned.

Well, this is maybe why.

According to Gamespot, the game isn't a full blown Tomb Raider, but a top down, arcade action shooter, hence why its download only. All makes sense now, doesn't it?

The game centre's around two characters, Lara herself, and a Mayan called Totec. It includes all the usual shoot em up, tomb raiding goodness you would expect, co-op - online and off, and a fuzzy warm 1980's arcade feeling, but with modern visuals.

Sounds good eh? No release date as yet, just this Summer.
