Modern Warfare 2 patch has been submitted to Microsoft

It's almost time for the overdue patch for MW2 to rid us of the carepackage glitchers. If sources are to be believed however, don't think this will completely halt the never ending onslaught of air support as there's already been another exploit found on a previous patch.

The patch was submitted on Friday, so we'll see when Microsoft gets around to verifying and submitting the fix to our Xbox's. Here's hoping it's soon. Full patch details, below:

  • Care Package, Emergency Airdrop, and Sentry Gun marker grenades sprint speed normalized.
  • Fix for “infinite care package” exploit.
  • Sentry Guns: Improved placement detection, preventing cases of Sentry Guns inside geometry.
  • Model 1887: Bling using Akimbo and FMJ combination now has same range and damage as non-Bling Model 1887s.
  • Fixes to prevent various XP hacks.

Wait.... the Model 1887s are now going to be nerfed again? That isn't really fair considering the fact they're unlocked at Rank 67. Surely the weapons you unlock near the end should be at least decent? Or do they have to be nerfed repeatedly? While I agree they were overpowered at the launch of Modern Warfare 2, bringing their range down again is just downright absurd.

I find their power and range now acceptable. I think the fix and patch is for when you put FMJ/Duel and stopping power on them, it takes their power back to the original settings.
