First Post-release Mass Effect 2 DLC Out Today

The first post-release DLC will go live later on today for both the PC and Xbox 360, to download for free, if you have the Cerberus Network activated.

Bioware announced via their forums that you will be able to grab two new items for Shepard and Co. later on today. The DLC goes live on February 9th (a.k.a today) and will be available from 12:00 pm (if no problems are encountered). The two new items will be free if you have activated your Cerberus Network card, which was included in all new copies of the game, otherwise you can buy a code here for 15$.

The Cerberus assault armor pictured above is the first item, it grants the bonus of 10% more heavy ammo, shields and health upon the wearer. The items description states,Cerberus assault armor is designed for shock troops, who are expected to turn the tide of battle against creatures or forces that would decimate normal soldiers."

The second item is the M22-a Eviscerator Shotgun, which is supposedly a longer range shotgun which contains armor-piercing shells. The forums also mentioned that, "This design also violates several intergalactic weapons treaties, so the M-22a is not distributed to militaries."

This seems right up cerberus street anyway and it cant be worse then the Krogan Claymore Shotgun (recoil strong enough to break a mans arm).
